The Roadtotheisle

Her rail is down
Sails pulling hard
TheRoadToTheIsle
Is sailing windward

Jib, fors'il and main
Filled with air inside
Fisherman aloft, overlooking
Everything with pride

Stanchon's are astraining
Stays are humming their song
Sheets tied off securely
The good ship sails along

Skipper's at the wheel
Doing his offbeat dance
Smiling, laughing, clapping
Revelling in this, his chance

To take TheRoadToTheIsle
To the limits of which she's able
And bring her back once again
To where she is more stable

For she's a labour of love
Built by his daughter and he
Strong and finely balanced
To sail in any sea

And the ship responds with music
Mixed with laughter on the deck
As she cuts the wave tops neatly
Spilling water off her back

Both dad and daughter know
Their ship, she is a queen
As she has taken to the sea
The way they both did dream

They know the love and toil
Into her being, they have plied
She's returning to them tenfold
While sailing or laying longside

So they sail along
Their face's alit with smile
Both hearts bursting with joy
For their good ship, RoadToTheIsle
