The Sad Path

Poem By Farida Adamu Dauda

I traced what I felt was happiness
Traced it thru different ways
I tailed it everywhere
Afraid to see sadness
Like a cat on an errand
Afraid to see the dog
I took it to my heart I don't want to be sad
Then the more I run
The more it follows me
Like a tangled faith twined together
I loose my happiness for a life time to be with sadness
And this is my pathetic lifestyle
If only I could hug the sadness I'm sure i'll be happy for a lifetime...
Surely if I don't know sadness i'll never enjoy happiness
