The Sand

I crawl into the sewers
For you, my friend
To document my depravity
Start my collection of loose ends
So that I may share with you
The lure
In hopes you ignore the lifelike
Images of programmed distractions
High to fall back down
To remind you of the ground
Be thankful you’re buried in
The sand
The surface is a hellish place
No novelty or even chivalry
Only agendas acted out by a global
Cast
Much too chilling for comfortable heads
They don’t appreciate the silence
Or encourage calm behavior
Only outlets for their cause
Be thankful
For the sand
