The Sea Of Deception

With a death wish at hand
and a sweeping gait
here the man strode solemnly
towards his destined fate

the darkness cast upon him
for the emptiness had yet to subside
his mind held not a whim
and he lingered towards the tide

silently but swiftly
he moved to the light
and the man grew closer
with darkness impaired sight

brightness in the distance
showed in the translucent sea
yet the aura was faint
what is happening?
What might this be?

He felt a cold lifeless hand tug at his arm
His body suddenly felt weak
As if it were being harmed
Who did it seek?

The sea shown deathly now
And there rolled the tide
While the waves crashed with a gasp of breath
the old man winced and died
