The Sun's Swan Song

Poem By Chionh Zhe Wen

The dark oceans burst into tears,
As the weak darkness grew strong,
The reef cocked its ears,
As the Sun calls for her swan song.

The sunshine gloomed at the sand,
As the sand stared back clueless,
The waves swept up to shore,
To bring the news of the exodus.

The demons had risen from their caves,
Of clouds and grey-tinted fog,
Shooting arrows of darkness,
At the Earth's helpless flock.

The Sun's swan song has ended,
Earth have lost,
It has been rented,
Out and the darkness falls.
