The Supreme Bean

Poem By Willa Winston

He came out of the ground
And looked all around. He
Came out of his home after
Being alone. "Where are the trees? Where
Are the bees? If I work
Hard, I can make some
Of these!" "Where are the birds whose
Songs I've heard? If they
Were near, I two certainly
Would hear!" "Being the Supreme Bean,
I know about these. I
Know there will always be
The birds and the bees."
