The Third Millennium

We are the children
Of the third millennium
Where Earth separates, spitting fire,
Floods ravage our lands and homes,
Fires rampage through our forests,
And wildlife almost gone.
Many people, yet we are strangers.
We all walk the hot beds of time,
And over all previous generations,
climbing to the altars of your beliefs
Have left us trouble and heartache,
But the new millennium
Will be ours___________!
Then when the past is gone,
whatever is left,
We will sweep into our hearts.
In the mean time we must learn,
All the things we need to know,
so we can go onto our conclusion.
Because now we are ignorant,
And we, left with holes, defective.
Yet, we the children
Will become the masters
Of our own time span.
The third millennium!
