The Type Of Stuff
The type of stuff I write anybody can write
by Francis Duggan
I will never be a literary leading light
Just one of many in an ordinary Town
Who never will know literary renown.
I am one of those who lives on with self doubt
A literary hack down but not counted out
Of wealth and fame now I don't dare to dream
Though many like me or so it would seem.
Though they are only temporary wealth and fame
For at the end 'twill all come to the same
No proof of life beyond this Earthly shore
We live for awhile and die and then no more.
So much suffering in the bigger World out there
But mortality is a thing we all do share
Yet those with compassion becoming more rare
And of the plight of the have nots too few seem to care.
The type of stuff I pen seems ordinary indeed
But to write in me I seem to have this need
In life we all do have some cross to bear
And addictive people like me everywhere.
