Poem By Frederick Francis
Her gaze crashes over me like a wave
Descending upon an unsuspecting shore,
Surging from its mesmerizing origins
Taking hold of the shore in an instant,
Then pulling back from whence it came
Its retreat takes with it small pebbles;
Drawing pieces of the shore into its depths
Until all has been given, and the shore
Is utterly and completely taken.
I find these waves oddly hypnotic;
Constant and consistent in a world that’s chaotic.
