The Weeping Willow Trees

As I walk through the fields so free,
My thoughts run deep inside of me.
I stop and ponder on the ground I tread
And saw the weeping willow trees straight ahead.

Fascinating of trees, the weeping willow now
Hung with silky aments along the bough,
Bearing scaly bracts with utmost pride,
Wearing white for the Eastertide.

Since I looked for things in bloom,
Knowing that Spring will be upon us soon,
About the awakening woodland I stroll
To see the weeping willow trees hung with snow.

We had a beautiful weeping cherry in front of our house, it worn pink for the Eastertide. When it was in bloom, all our neighbors to come to take family pictures under the tree. Then it fell down, carpenter ants killed it. The entire neighborhood was a sadder place.
