To The Grey

Poem By ADITYA NITTOOR

The world has no mercy on itself
It lives in the cruelty of killing for food
The dead die and disappear into particles less than dust
The strong of today are the dead of tomorrow
And all of us are fools of our own delusions and pretensions
Meanwhile in the larger spaces
The mysteries of distant explosions
Are solved into equations
Only few of us can barely understand
And all of us including those very distances
The stars of our romances and the galaxies of our observations
Go from chaos to order and order to chaos
With no maintaining of Meaning whatsoever

All I Wanted Was Poems

I didn’t want other kinds of words
I wanted poems
Because they helped me feel more alive
They gave me an intensity

Nothing Tells Me How To Begin Again

Nothing tells me how to begin again
Or even how to try
I am too old now
And how can I expect to do at the age of seventy- five?

I Must Continue To Write

There will always be another poem
And with that poem- hope
However absurd-
So even if I despair
