Poem By Sarah Eve

are soulless warriors
And I…
a soulful, empty handed goddess

If I hesitate
this state
of rapture
then don’t remember me as from today
What I have left unsaid…

The real me kisses fingertips
But lips
It never escapes

From where you sit
Can you watch the fence perched sparrows
Or see how the fire flies beneath?
They fill themselves to feel the light,
but me
I’m heavy with this empty

I’m crawling in my thoughts
Crimson shivers in the open night
My reality is not my own
But is my truth….But is your truth
Both true

I run to the edge of oblivion
swimming down this spiral of repeat
My feet
are weary soldiers
who fight the enigma of those showy airs
Or maybe they are widows
Grieving what was never theirs.

We Do Not Need Saving

And in order to save our hair,
From the gush of rushing windy waves
That cause our trips, we must gather early and often
We must fall onto our knees and fake our smiles.

These are just opacities

I Sat Beneath The Question Mark

I sat beneath the question mark
And ate the wonderment
Enjoying the digestion
And the churning of the question

In depths, in steps we slept
And kept

When Walking Out Upon Your Words

When walking out upon your words
I thought I’d rather swim
So, as if upon a whim
I grew a set of fins
