They Say

you can't go home again
hold the hands and fireflies
tight in your mind
like grass blades
green between your toes
now whisper them away
you can't go home

the nostalgia is there
but that's all it is
it won't unfade your colors
it won't really help you remember them
let go, but don't

let the longing lay on you
like the summer air you can't recall
taste it and know
that there are such things
worth longing for

take me back again

if only they were more than memories. Loved it.
