They'Ve Finally Crushed Me

Gotta try to still be happy,
have to be someone i'm not,
the rising tide is trying to drown me,
and it comes in quicker then I can swim.

Crazy thoughts are coming to my brain,
Everyone's disbelief in me,
is driving me insane.

Depression -
Can't have that - oh no,
that's just me 'attention-seeking'.

Sick of trying to everyone prove,
that i'm better - and smarter -
then they first thought,
they have finally crushed me,
with their sharp black hooves.

Never let them get you down. Your poem has an edge to it, which says you are a fighter. I enjoyed the feel, keep writing. Kindest Regards Slim. x.
I can see those hooves coming down on you. There is a lesson to be learned in this poem: we spend a lot of time thinking of ways to please others who either have no idea we are going through this OR they simply have expectations that are ridiculous. Get up and turn these tables around! What are your expectations of them AND how have they been short on delivery? I like this poem! A 'little' dark..but not a poem that is completely without hope! LSP
