This Lady: A Song

Poem By Catherine Malchak

This lady's had enough now
and don't you forget it
don't mess with her love
or you'll live to regret it
don't push her around
don't pull her apart
don't use her body
or toy with her heart

(Chorus)
But if you know how
to sift through the pieces
of someone who's falling apart
then take what's left of her
and save the best of her
for then she can make a new start

This lady has almost been
pushed to the limit
so don't be the lover
who crushes her spirit
don't push her away
don't find someone new
don't love her today
and then leave her blue

Repeat Chorus

(Bridge)

Don't make her your fool
Don't tell her your lies
Don't treat her that cruel
and watch while she cries

Repeat Chorus

The Process

There's a beginning.
We meet.
We talk.
We laugh.

The Bond

As the bond is formed
it is apparent that this is to be
my most ferocious love
and though you have not yet been born

A Favorite Good Book

You were to me like a favorite good book
glued to your pages until I was hooked
The first time I read you my whole world shook
It was like you were from the library
