This Modern World

This modern World sure is dandy.

With all the sciences makes things handy!

Push button stoves,

Television remotes,

V.C.R.'s, videos, and satellite dishes

Pick up programs, whatever one Wishes!

Even lights on command.

By mere clap of the hand!

Then give the computer a whirl,

And send letters instantly, all over the world!

But, my oh my! What can one make

When the only can opener had to break!?
The Immigrant

Today I sail Westward, follow the sun,

New land new adventure, new life is my goal!

When old Homeland disappears at Horizon,

Strangest emotions crisscross my soul!

Now I must look forward through teary haze,

That perhaps tomorrow brings better days!
