This Road

i've been hiding like a thief hoping never to be spotted.
nervous with new faces, my body i've not flaunted.
a stranger to a smile. That describes me.
I've been walking the mile and it hasn't been easy.
its a difficult road and i walk it alone.
if i had someone to call, i'd use my phone.
but there's no help for the helpless, no prayers for the weak.
so I'll keep myhead downcast. I won't try to speak.
Won't cry to passerbys. Won't reveal my pain.
This is my reality-things will never be the same.
