Thistle

insipid grape
flowers
kiss
black and yellow
lovers
spiny arms
reach out
like stalkers
embrace air
pierce flesh
in maturity
sere
purple flees as
goose down
snow comes
and protects
sturdy anchors
hungry finches
eat ebony
seeds
and carry
prickly
unborn infants
to homes
like tiny storks
who deliver
unwanted children
