Small Mourning Pieces

Poem By Mary Havran

He said he loved me terribly
I believed that this was true
I thought he was my future
That is, till I found you.

He promised that the world was mine
He’d never make me blue
I thought he told the truth to me
That is, till I found you.

He said he’d never leave me
There was nothing to misconstrue
I thought I had my mate for life
That is, till I found you.

I thanked God for his presence
I did not think we were through
When he cheated I lost all happiness
That is, till I found you!
