To Go

Poem By Cecilia Parkin

I must let you go
Without rancour, but not without hurt.
I will pale when I think of you - there,
With those that were before.

I cannot bear to see the shadow
On your face when your thoughts
Transfer to another place,
Another time -with them.

Yes! , we have trod the heights,
Danced among the stars,
Shared our deepest thoughts.
Our days brighter than the brightest sun.

But I must let you go,
You are theirs --Not Mine! .

Lovely but so sad, Cecilia, and quite emotional. Sincerely Ernestine
