To Melt Away

Poem By David Harris

For years and years, I wandered,
never touching anyone’s life.
Then one day I did
and the trend seemed
to go on without end.
I extended a hand of friendship
to everyone that I did meet,
helped them with their problems
of which their lives were beset.
Some tell me I should stop doing this
as it will cause me more stress in my life,
but how can helping another human being
ever bring stress to another life.
How can it be stressful
when you feel the joy they feel
when their problems
seem to melt away into thin air?

My friend I know how you feel, people fetch the problems to me, all the time. Really they just need some one to talk to and to understand, that's the best part of being a friend, being there when they need a hand...10
