To My Dearest Mother

Poem By Lara wolf

I pick for you a purple flower growing from the ground
I say to you dear mother-look at the beauty all around
It’s as if the world has been painted in love(bearing its beauty for all to see)
But then dearest mother you Did bend down and say to me
Look at the beauty in your hand
You are much too young to understand
That this flower will soon wither away(just like all things good they never stay)
My eyes go wide(but I refuse to cry)
Refuse to beLIEve (my flower will die)
So I run to you father hoping you’ll tell me she’s wrong
But you look at the flower and say you’re too Strong-
For A gift such as This-
I soon start to whimper and my hEart
starts
to
sink
Cause I soon realize this flower. my flower. (it stinks-
Of the truth) so I run for a glass of water and hope
Then I place my flower in and begin to mope
as it s-l-o-w-l-y
withers
away
Getting smaller and smaller every passing day
Its once vibrant happy color fades to brown
And then I Did Bury that once purple flower dead in the ground
Upon the occasion you place an
arm on my shoulder
a pat on my back
And say now that’s-
Beautiful
