To My Wife Kelly
My dearest Kelly for whom I love.
Joined together in a chapel of doves.
A hot summer sun that surely did swell.
A suit and tie made it hotter than hell.
Watching you walk along the maiden aisle.
How I saw the preacher gently smile.
Could he have been looking at your gown?
Thinking of someone who let him down.
The services started and all seemed well.
Until we heard the name that sourly fell.
We are here today for celebration and fun.
Steven and Kelly are now joined as one.
Now, Kelly is a nice name, nice indeed.
But not as nice as the name in front of me.
I saw you look at the preacher’s lost face.
We all shouted for your saving grace.
A day to remember for a celebration in life.
That we were joined and you became my wife.
A preacher’s mistake not calling you Shelly.
Makes for late night fun and screaming O’Kelly! ! !
