Today Is Yesterday's Tomorrow

Inherit today because soon it will be no more.
Torment me not with the burden of yesterday.

The folly of your mind will picture my thoughts as a jest,
but remember we are human and must challenge the quest.

Strong winds of memories blow across my mind,
Touching every bone and vein within my soul.
Should I be afraid of growing old?

The stupidity of youth may be the judgement of today,
Even when we try to turn our lives around.

Mistakes made, friends fade.
Families persuade us that it's not right
to destroy each other with our blades.

Ignore me not. Together we shelter beneath the shadows of today
and the memories of yesterday.

Loyalty is strongest if we let our respect for each other show.
We are human so let love grow.
