Today The Braces Come Off!

Poem By Mary Nagy

They strapped them on so long ago
they're now a part of me.
Today they're going to rip them off
and set my poor teeth free!

For oh so long they've hurt me.
They've torn my mouth to bits.
They'll leave me bruised and battered.
It's time to call it quits!

We started this with hopes
to have a normal smile.
Now we end with so much more.
My teeth are ''single filed''!

So straight and bright and pearly white!
I never thought they'd be.
My parents money was well spent....
just look and you will see!

Mary - as far as singing goes - it would be fun just to hear you read these.
This was a poem I found in my old notebook. This was during the time my oldest got her braces.... I guess I decided not to post this at the time. I figured I would now. Yes, she looks lovely now. thanks, Mary
Aren't they horrific things - you wouldn't believe there was enough room for all that metal! Still the result will be stunning, I'm sure! Smile please your on Poem Hunter! ! ! ! ! ! Sincerely Ernestine.
Love this poem - takes me back to when I had braces (I was in my thirties) . avr
