Too Many Years

All too many years alone
Lost in unnamed crowds
Surrounded by soulless hearts
Chasing in love’s wrong direction
Down a one-way-zone

Through too many lost ways
How I've been looking for you
Kicking open empty doors
Searching in bourbon and gin
While this lonely heart decays

You're my heaven I can't pretend
The living joy I see in you
And love filled days spent together
O' the one I though wouldn't be
Finding my lover and true friend

When your last breath was spilt
On that fateful final day
By blissful memories eternal
I wove your name in a blanket
Given with love to The Quilt

Haze’y visits to your stone
Where my sweet lost love lay
Lifeless hours slowly passing
And once again I'll spend
All too many years, alone
