Too Much To Ask For

Poem By Lana May Hamlin

I don’t think I can hold on any longer
The memories making me anything but stronger
They leave a physical strain
Their scars will forever remain
But they’re hidden for the winter until May
But that’s another battle I’ll put off for another day
So I’ll sit in bed rethinking my life
Wishing I had the courage to finally use a knife
To cut out the heard that lays shattered, broken
My life hurting and feeling so forsaken
But for now I’ll simply stare out at the night sky
Pressing myself with one question, why?
They told me lies to calm my tears
The pain swelled up over the years
When I find love, it’s swept from under my feet
It’s just another heartbreaking defeat
My world had just turned right
Until the fire stole it all on that horrible night
I died when I had to move away
When my friends is where I wanted to stay
I guess happiness is too much to ask for
So I’ll start living this life without feeling anymore

Smile at me baby, just one more time
Hold me close and remind me your mine
Look into my eyes and please see
All you need in your life is me

Never Stop The Search

I close my eyes and fight back the tears
That well up in my eyes.
Everyday I face my fears
Because I don’t have you by my side.

True Love

I know I’m the last person you want to listen to
But listen up because what I’m going to say is all true
How can you walk away from something so strong
What happened, what went wrong?

Like a river
Like a fog
I’m enveloped in what you say
Questioning your every word

Never-Ending Battle

My hands start shaking,
My heart speeds up it's beating,
My knees go weak,
This is what the thought of you does.

Our Heaven

Sitting in the spot we loved so much
My body craving for your sweet touch
My heart swelling with the thought of you
Memories linger from the dreams we made true
