Towards The End

Poem By Adam Young

It's only my invisible bones
that I am left with

you had your way with me
long ago
and I used to eat a lot of buttermilk
that's all I can remember

she saw a man with a fur coat
and he was gone in seconds
and she new what it meant
and my spine soon leaked out
and I knew what it meant

I still eat a lot of buttermilk
