Trigger Me

Trigger me,
in a shower of love.
My hand to my belly,
goes without thinking.
Emptiness fills me.
I remember a vacuum.

Trigger me,
in a shower of love.
My heart beats wildly
as I struggle to breathe.
Desperation overwhelms me.
I remember my despair.

Trigger me,
In a shower of love.
Each dropp that falls
in their wishing-well
rises at my feet
as I drown in grief.

But then,
my forgiveness comes.
She stands beside me.
Back in the present,
grace again heals me.
I remember my joy.

Now,
I am washed
in a shower of love.
Free to celebrate new life.
Aware that I am filled with nothing,
but love,
and hope for them.
