True To Yourself

When you are an ocean unto your soul
Cryptic accolades blend like butter,
Waves wash scars clean
As words turn to doves in flight,
Milking the sky for attention

Hearts shine like glazed ice,
Freezing spears in mid air,
Dancing sideways through the rain,
While towns flood furry through the streets

Laying immune to what someone doesn’t do
We bundle care in perfumed tents
Perched deep in the woods,
Curios for another time
That forgot how to linger in rebuff

Moving onto the real day
Ladders are lowered
For those wishing to climb
Through questions, wading through
Reams of dots till the
Images come alive, following them from
Afar as they lumber off the page
