'Twinkle, Twinkle...

Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
Kings of pop can fall too far.
Down below the sleazy mire,
of easy wealth and base desire.
Wrinkle, wrinkle, little scar,
I wonder who you really are?

Twinkle, twinkle, meek or mild.
Shining face of youth beguiled.
Charming rogue, or smiling bandit;
a squirming fish that's never landed.
Twinkle, twinkle, little child.
Who is innocent, and who's defiled?

Twinkle, twinkle, little eye.
Lightning flash and violent sky.
Distant thunder, rolling drums.
Storms of madness, this way comes.
Twinkle, twinkle, little I.
Doomed to awful fame awry.

Twinkle, twinkle, little mind.
Not of metal, not of spine.
Reeling under nameless thumbs.
Balance lost as feeling numbs.
Twinkle, twinkle, little mind;
left all reason far behind.

I really like the rhythm of this one David. The use of the old 'twinkle, twinkle' nursery rhyme is such a great idea. It really works here. Sincerely, May
