Urn's Heart

I'm sitting here with heart in hand
eyes pointing toward the door
I'm gluing together the broken
you're standing outside my door
it takes my mind away from the pain
of this hole in my chest
the place where my heart used to be
before it was torn from rest
you talk to me and whisper things
that I have never heard
I'm hanging on this moment
and every single word
you state your name
and knock on the wood
I smile a bit
and start to feel good
I set my heart in an urn
and travel towards your voice
like wafting fingers in the air
I've made my daring choice
I close my eyes
and breath deep
I open the door
and see you when I sleep
