Vasila

Poem By Gulliver Gimble

Vasila is a girl.
Halfway around the world.
Coming full circle.

Her tears are warm.
Ten years after being born.
A fluttering heart.

Tragic decline from yesterday.
Vasila wishes the sky would blow away.
New York holds a promise.

Surgery is a fresh start.
This country, worlds apart.
She doesn't want to go back.

A mud home with a straw roof.
Homelessness needs no proof.
Vasila stares at tall buildings.

She ask to keep her hospital gown.
A smile is only an upside down frown.
Better now, she leaves tomorrow.

Vasila is a girl.
From halfway around the world.
She has come full circle.

I like this one Steve. How many times has that scene been re-enacted. Also thanks for your kind comments on my 'Sands'. All the best. Sid John.
