Venus And Mars

The verbs of passion
Catch onto to the fallen swords
And twined daisies.
The new atlas
Of rivers and sighs
Shine against the night—
A scene of two iron deities
Caught inside their love
And war.

Hidden from the sights
And loyalties of duties

Two stony myths
In their palace of starry hours
Explore the deepest revenge
In moral breadth
And praise the gods in harmony
For this quaking gift
Of heat upon heat
And lies upon love.

The beautiful
And un-dividing
Tribute and crowing
To 'amore vulgare'
