Virtuous Fading

Poem By Kelly Vinal

How something virtuous fades
To the persistence of clock-hands play -
Rays of moonbeam gradated,
Dusk-to-dusk eternal.
How you fell from power,
My little Hitler, paper monster -
Precious ambition escapes with
Every allied victory.
One lunatic’s atrocity,
Somber by each visceral account -
As your Reich now fades to memory,
It shall pass with you.
How something virtuous expires
Is by perspective of strength,
And that is fleeting, at best -
The tired pause of glory

The Man Without A Name

Deep within the chasm,

Bringing rains, the rivers run.

And I will not meet your eye –
The waves of barley pass below
A wake of hurricane

Ubiquitous Song

I can hear an army calling,
Foot-charge o’er bugler’s wails,
Battle horses thundering -
Infinite chariot driving mud.

Pause To Dream

They didn’t say, and so
They suffered, the long-drawn
Breath between the lie and
The cover-up - the shrill of
