When I close my eyes, I see the expanse of
by Kay Bressner
blue-gray clouds hovering over the vast swamp.
An image not unpleasant as one might think;
the grass has light, the water fresh life
and the sky is silvery lined.
Where the dark nebula breaks, kind loving rays
of sun shine down; invigorating the wild flora.
I live on land that was once a part
of such miraculous place
The great blue heron and we,
the settlers, now greet face to face.
