Waiting For You

never thought I would have
a reason to count the hours and minutes

I look forward to every evening
knowing another day has ended

hold a picture of you
firmly in my mind

wish someone never invented
such a thing as 'time'

weeks pass
in slow motion

spoke softly to you in my sleep
as I tasted your skin
with my lips

when I awoke
I knew you really had been there

seeing a flower
you left in my hair.
