Walking With Rainbows

We can walk with rainbows along the river side,
Sit in the shade holding each other by the rising tide.
Lie on our backs and stare up into the trees,
Watch the branches sway tangled on the breeze.
Shafts of sunlight cut through the trees cooling shade,
Twisting light on this haven you and I have made.
You'll fall asleep from the rivers lullaby,
I will gather you flowers and plant them in your sky's.
Sunlight splinters through the trees and dances on your face,
A dream takes your soul away to another times forgotten place.
You awaken from your dream and smile a river wide,
We gather up our rainbows and swim to the other side.
You will fall asleep again only to awaken,
To a rainbow that is crying and a little shaken.
You'll gather in your rainbow and hold it really close,
For its those tiny little rainbows that need our love the most.
