War

What a tragic turn this course has taken
Brothers in arms coldly mistaken
Are we not all men of the same mother?
What holds the common man from allying one another?
Hopes and dreams are silently strayed
To fight for a cause that our morals forbade
These are not our beliefs for which we must die
But one of a tyrant
Who values not I
They pit youth against youth
Peer against peer
Our disparities are not visible
Even with the aid of a mirror
Although strangers at heart we be
I steady my gun
And point it at thee
