The city lights shine like twinkling stars
Streets washed clean with the early morning rain
The air smells so fresh and sweet
People will be waking soon and starting their days
Rushing around to get were they need to be

Each and every day this goes on
All oblivious to the sufferings of others
To the under current of problems we all face
Many spiral down out of control
With no hope with no help no hand to reach out

These people don’t fit in we don’t want to think of them
We don’t want them on our streets
Passing them by with a look of disgust
But just remember one thing a warning to us all
O but for the grace of god go I
