I, trapped inside this mortal shell,
Abandoned on this earthly plane,
Have made of it a living hell,
One of torment, woe, and pain!
Stranded here with other fools,
I yearn to soar above the sky!
I battle them with war’s foul tools,
And kill and kill and pray to die.
And free myself with sword’s sharp sting,
With angel wings begin to fly,
Onto Heaven where cherubim sing,
Nevermore to ache and cry.
As an ancient god, immortal be,
Sitting on great heavenly seat,
And evermore the truth to see,
Eternal happiness complete.
