Washed Away

Poem By Adriane Hunt

As I glance over the tree tops
The balcony nauseates me
Moving clouds, crisp, hypnotic
With traces of grey
Just another shade of my mood
They walk shirtless beneath me
August morning,93 degrees

The queasiness subsides
But my knuckles remain white
Holding on to bars
When all I wanna do is take flight
Please, forgive me
The clouds depart
To remind me there's so much more
Beyond...this restless heart

His kisses stained my lips
I gather my clothes
From the heap
No good-byes, I tiptoe
Here comes the rain
Soothing, soft, slow
Washed away
