We Do Not Choose Our Subjects. They Choose Us.

Poem By David Mitchell

I try not to search for things to write about.
If I do that, I write gibberish.
But, being a poet, I think — too much, perhaps.
Sometimes I write iambic pentameters without intending to.
I write what comes to me. That's the best way.
