We Knocked Upon Your Door
We knocked upon your door one day
by Gloria H. Koplin
And you opened up your heart.
We sat down at your loaded table
And received also, sustenance for our minds.
Your outstretched arms enfolded us
In love and warmth of friendship.
We shared some happenings of our lives-
You gave us joy and laughter in return.
You offered us a bed and we found rest
In the peace we found with you.
You shared with us your dearest friends
And we took them for our own.
Our lives were made much richer -
Our hearts much happier -
Our faith much stronger -
Because we knocked upon your door.
