Welcome To Life

Poem By Jordan Cummins

I awake from my long dreams,
After time has passed me by.
This place isn't what it seems.
It is all one huge lie.

No blue sky or green grass here,
'Renovation' is to blame.
The Artist's work is just a smear,
On everyone's trek to fame.

What the hell is this place?
How did I arrive?
Everyone shares one blank face,
No one is alive.

Why do I feel different?
Am I the only one living?
I chose how my life is spent,
And I am always giving.

Time to awaken the crowd,
To take them from their strife.
Then I will say aloud,
'Hello and welcome to life.'
