What I Want

Poem By Loretta Doyle Smalley

I want to get through high school.
I want to go to college.
I want to get a good job and make something of myself.
I want my dreams to come true.
I want to keep my best-friends as I make new ones.
I want to make my dad and older sister and her two kids proud of me.
That's what I want.

Comments about What I Want

Loretta, I think you could make more out of this poem. You have complied a list, but take away the repetition and ask yourself, what do you REALLY want and therein lies the poem. Sx

People think that money is everything.
Well news flash for them money is not everything! !
Yeah buys you food, cars, houses, toys, and clothes, but it can't buy true family, and real friends.
Most important of all it can't buy true love.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever been in-love?
Have you ever had your heart broken?
Have you lost someone that you are close to do to death?
Have you ever had to watch your back because of people wanting to jump you?

The Truth

The truth is unspoken because of my fear.
The fear that keeps going through my head.
The truth is, is that I am scared that if I tell you the truth about how I feel when I am with you, and what I am thinking everytime you are near I might lose you.
I don't want to mess up our friendship.

The Sun

The sun shines very brightly.
When cluds are not covering it.
The sun is yellow.
The sun comes up in the morning. The sun shines during the day.

My Sister

As I think about it more and more each day, it comes clearer to me.
What I feel in my heart is no lie.

Single Father

It started as a game, a simple joke.
A one night stand with someone I really don't know.
Not even a month later she showed up at my door.
She tells me that I am going to be a father.
