What Is A House?
Poem By Arturo Garcia
What is a house without all of its residents,
Presented to me in the most beautiful way?
But its purpose was not as was meant;
Is it as beautiful as it was yesterday?
What is a house if it is not a home?
No one to tend it; no one inside there.
Its true meaning to me is all but known;
This shell is worth no more than a stare.
What is a word without a meaning,
When we say it each and everyday?
I looked in their eyes and stopped believing,
That they even meant whatever they say.
But now that I have met you, it is all clear:
I now know the meaning; I love you my dear.
