What's Courage?

Poem By Eliseo Rivera

Here's a question thats always on the back of your mind
With an answer nearly impossible to find
What is courage?
People often mistake courage for bravery
Like sumone that looks like a celeberity
Bravery is having little or no fear
Like a dying person knowing the end is near
Courage is overcoming what makes you tremble and shiver
Like knowing you might die and still donating your liver
But courage wouldn't exist without fear
Like intoxication wouldn't exist without beer
So I guess now the REAL question is clear
Not What's Courage but What's Fear?

Comments about What's Courage?

You ended it amazingly well..ignore the rest of my comment unless if you would like some constructive criticism, your concept is very good but if you added more adjectives to keep the attention of the reader and added more internal rhyme it could be one of the best on the cite
Well said young man. It appears we have another philosopher in our midst. I love young men who use their minds for something besides lust and drugs and cars. It keeps the hopes of this older baby boom generation from despairing altogether. This was a wonderful poem. I'll certainly return again. GW62
