What’s With Mirrors

The mirror
I fear
Tells more than the truth

Of wrinkles
Chase away my youth

Tears may wash away dirt
But don’t remove the hurt
Only blurs what is buried deep
The causes of losing too much sleep

The mirror
Can’t be any clearer
A diary of sins past

Never losing sight
Never being polite
About the things that just don’t last

So we use it as a tool
To misrepresent the fool
Touch up the crooked lines
Ignoring the vital signs
