In thinking one late, starry night,

Drowning in thought when most are buried in dreams,
A knife ran through my chest, an urge to hear your voice.
And so I called you and I said,
I could tell you our life story,
Our fights, our laughs, our kids, our triumphs, our failures,
And how every day I woke up and I said,
It’s all on you, on you taking that first step,
Making that leap of faith,
From which a lifetime of joy will spring.
And when we’re old and gray
We can look back and remember.
